The following install instructions are for a new Monsoon Marketplace server installation. Workstation installations are covered on Webhelp.

WARNING! Only install a new Monsoon Marketplace server if you are instructed to do so by a support representative.

Do not follow this tutorial if you already have a version of SQL Server you wish to use. Contact Support for specific instructions. This process is intended for users who are installing the standard Microsoft SQL Server Express version included in the Monsoon Marketplace installer.

Part One: Download the software

  1. Navigate to the Monsoon Community.
  2. Click on Answers and choose Get Answers from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on the Monsoon Downloads folder on the right under the Categories menu.
  4. Click on the version document that you'll be downloading.
  5. Click on the version link to download the installation file.

Part Two: Prepare your system for installation

  1. Make sure that you have installed all available Windows updates for your computer.
    • Windows 7 and 8 must have Service Pack 1 installed.
    • Windows 10 must have Microsoft .NET 4.61 or higher.
  2. Go to your computer’s Control Panel, select Programs, and select Uninstall to see if Monsoon Marketplace is already installed on your computer.
  3. If you do not have Monsoon Marketplace installed, skip to Part Three.
  4. If another installation of Monsoon Marketplace exists on your computer:
    • Uninstall the previous installation before installing the new Monsoon Marketplace server.
    • Delete the Monsoon folder from C:\Program Files, C:\ProgramData, and/or C:\Program Files (x86).

Part Three: Install the software

    1. Double-click the installation file you downloaded in Part One. The file is named MonsoonInstaller_{version}.
    2. If the screen below appears, click Run. If it does not, continue to the next step.
